48th Munitions Squadron change of command

Maj. Brian E. Tolson took command of the 48th Munitions Squadron in a ceremony May 14. The Hoffman Estates, Illinois native took command from Lt. Col. John C. Mateer . 

The squadron has 340 Liberty warriors. The squadron's mission is to provide munitions and armament systems maintenance for 83 F-15C/D/E and 5 HH-60 aircraft supporting 48th Fighter Wing, USAFE, USEUCOM and NATO commitments and taskings. 

Responsibilities include control, storage, inspection, testing, accounting, assembly and delivery of training and war reserve munitions assets at home station and deployed locations. 

The squadron maintains and inspects all associated aircraft suspension equipment.ensure combat readiness and fleet health by providing command and control, analysis and scheduling of 83 F-15C/D/E Eagles and Strike Eagles, and 5 HH-60 Pavehawk aircraft.
