Road closure
Bangor Road between the Elementary School and the Youth Center will be closed Feb. 26. This closure allows the construction of a new access route on base, in preparation for the closing of Radcliffe Road by a new perimeter fence. A temporary walking route between the Elementary School and the Youth Center will be constructed for use during this period. The access to the Elementary School service area will be realigned to maintain access for heavy vehicles during this time.

Munitions storage closure
The 48th Fighter Wing Munitions Storage Area will be closed March 1 until March 31 for a semi-annual inventory. Issue requests need to be submitted to Munitions Accountability no later than Tuesday, with a pick up date no later than Feb. 28, to meet scheduling requirements. Normal hours of operation will resume April 1.

Mothers of preschoolers
Mothers of Preschoolers meet at the RAF Mildenhall base chapel every first and third Thursday of the month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Free childcare on-site for children 0-5 years old is available.

Youth Center outdoor soccer
Volunteer soccer coaches are needed for all ages. The Youth Center will certify and train volunteers. For more information, call 226-1182.

Sports physicals
The pediatrics clinic will conduct sports physicals Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. Appointments can be made through the appointment line or the front desk. Arrive 20 minutes prior to fill out all paperwork.

Trespass notice
The firing range that supports RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall is located at RAF Feltwell. The range complex is in the southwest corner of the base and is surrounded by a perimeter fence clearly marked by danger signs. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. When firing is in progress, the range flags or red flashing beacon will be visible from all range entrance points. Unauthorized entry into the range is not only illegal, but also hazardous due to the airborne lead particles in the backstop. For more information, contact the range at 226-7026.

Animal welfare officer
The animal welfare officer handles all pet concerns. The AWO provides education and information on owning a pet on a military installation. For more information, call the pet welfare office at 226-5796.

Roundabout construction
Suffolk County Council is planning road construction on the Eriswell roundabout on the B1112, the roundabout at RAF Lakenheath's back gate. Road work will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 26 and 27. The roundabout will not be closed, but due to construction, expect traffic congestion when entering and departing the back gate.

Babysitter's course
An American Red Cross Babysitter's Course is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 10. The class is in the Airman and Family Readiness Center, RAF Lakenheath. For more information or to signup, call the American Red Cross at 226-1855.

Central Texas College 
Central Texas College is offering the following classes in Term 4: Ethics in Criminal Justice, Legal Aspects of Law Enforcement, Infant and Toddler, Children With Special Needs, Children of Military/Deployed Families, Theory of Automotive Engines, and Fundamentals of Fire Protection. Commissary scholarship 
The RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall commissaries are giving away a $1,500 scholarship. Qualified applicants may apply at either commissary. The deadline is Feb. 21. For more information on the scholarship, visit www.commissaries.com or call 226-3515.

Pre-separation briefing
A pre-separation briefing is 1 to 3 p.m., Feb. 20, and 9 to 11 a.m., Feb. 27. The class fulfills the mandatory requirement for all personnel retiring/separating from the military.

Newcomers bus tour 
Newcomers bus tours are 8:45 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., Feb. 23. The newcomers tour includes visiting the historical town of Bury St. Edmunds, the cathedral, eating in a pub, shopping and free time to explore. 

Pet scoop
The pet scoop class is 2 to 5 p.m., Feb. 21. A pet specialist will assist military families to properly plan for shipping their pets.

Financial foundations
A financial foundations course is 8 to 9 a.m., Feb. 23. The money management class includes goal setting, budgeting, credit and debt management and basic investing.

Resume writing course
A resume writing and interview techniques course is 9 to 11 a.m., Feb. 28. This class teaches basic resume formatting with sample resumes as well as interviewing skills and techniques.
