Provides five squadrons of F-15C/D/E aircraft, HH-60G helicopters and personnel capable of accomplishing fighter and rescue operations worldwide. Prepares aircrew and support personnel to accomplish war plans and contingency operations for U.S. Air Forces Europe, U.S. European Command and NATO. Provides equipment, training, scheduling, analysis, weather, intelligence, standardization and evaluation, and command and control for an efficient flying operation.

492nd Fighter Squadron 

A combat-ready F-15E squadron capable of executing strategic attack, interdiction, close air support and counter-air missions in support of war plans and contingency operations for USAFE, USEUCOM and NATO. Employs the full array of air superiority and surface attack munitions to include the most advanced precision-guided weapons in the U.S. Air Force inventory. Capable of deploying to any theater of operations in the world.

493rd Fighter Squadron 

A combat-ready F-15C squadron capable of executing air superiority and air defense missions in support of war plans and contingency operations for USAFE, USEUCOM and NATO. Employs the full array of air-to-air weapons and electronic identification systems. Maintains the ability to rapidly generate, deploy, and sustain operations to execute wartime and peacetime taskings in any theater of operations in the world.

494th  Fighter Squadron 

A combat-ready F-15E squadron capable of executing strategic attack, interdiction and counter air missions in support of USAFE, USEUCOM and NATO. Employs the full array of air superiority and surface attack munitions to include the most advanced precision-guided weapons in the U.S. Air Force inventory. Capable of deploying to any theater of operations in the world. 

56th Rescue Squadron

Conducts rapidly deployable, worldwide combat rescue and reaction force response utilizing five HH-60G helicopters and ten pararescue specialists through insertion, extraction and recovery of U.S. and allied combatants. Provides long-range rescue, humanitarian assistance, non-combatant evacuation and disaster relief capability for the USEUCOM combatant commander and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in peacetime and across the spectrum of conflict.

48th Operations Support Squadron

Provides the operational foundation for four squadrons of F-15C/D/E and HH-60G aircraft capable of providing worldwide aerial dominance supporting war plans and contingency operations for USEUCOM, U.S. Africa Command, NATO and USAFE. Support includes flight and airfield management, operational plans, scheduling, intelligence, life support, air traffic control, weapons and tactics, weather, training, group administration, and 48th Fighter Wing battle staff manning.
