Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 512
10/15/2012 - ROYAL AIR FORCE MILDENHALL, England -- In an effort to better engage the community and prevent threats to the U.S. Air Force, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations recently announced a new initiative to move its Eagle Eyes "tip line" into the virtual world.
The new program will allow individuals to send anonymous information about suspicious or illegal activity through a smartphone application, the internet or by text message.
Tipsters may also submit relevant photos and documents and follow up on the results of their tips.
Special Agent Timothy Olive, AFOSI Detachment 512 special agent-in-charge, said OSI and law enforcement rely on every member of the Air Force to identify and report threats, and the tip line makes it easier and more convenient to report.
"There are many real threats to the Air Force, from cyber attack, to espionage, fraud and sexual assault," he said. "We rely on the entire community to be sensors and identify threats, and this new initiative allows individuals to report information in a manner many are more comfortable with."
