Sexual assault is one of the most under-reported crimes with only 18 percent of women and 5 percent of men reporting an incident. More than three-quarters of sexual assault incidents within the Air Force involved alcohol and most victims knew their perpetrators. Airmen compete in the Sexual Assault Awareness Month Amazing Race
ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England - (left to right) Capt. Troy Kenning, Airman 1st Class Garrett Silva, Staff Sgt. Keaston Simmons and Staff Sgt. Christopher Davalos of the 48th Contracting Squadron finished the Sexual Assault Awareness Month Amazing Race in first place on April 22, 2011. Nine teams of four were given SAAM related questions, various challenges and clues to follow to each location spanning from the fitness center to Defender Park. ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England - Airmen run to Defender Park during the Sexual Assault Awareness Month Amazing Race on April 22, 2011. Nine teams of four people were given clues to each new location they had to run to. At each location, they were given a SAAM associated question. If answered correctly, they were given their next clue. If answered incorrectly, they had to re-do the challenge for that area. Challenges included basketball free-throws, finding a book at the library, drinking eight cups of water per team, catching a water balloon, performing a touch-down dance and running laps around the track.
