Finkel 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs NEWMARKET, England -- The 48th Contracting Squadron held a first-ever Industry Engagement Day at Rowley Mile Racecourse Conference Center, Newmarket, England, May 10. Approximately 150 potential contractors from the local community, members of council leadership and Suffolk Chamber of Commerce executives attended the event to learn how to conduct business directly with the 48th CONS and partner better with U.S. visiting forces in the U.K. “The intent of this event is to provide new supply chain opportunities to industry partners interested in earning direct business opportunities with the U.S. government at various Royal Air Force installations across the U.K,” said Lt. Col. Adam V. Coyne, 48th CONS commander. The event gave CONS Airmen a unique opportunity to network with industry partners and grow business relationships necessary for economic growth and development. "The bases get to develop reliable local partnerships to help maintain our facilities and support the mission,” said Gary Slack, USAFE-UK International Relations chief. “There is a sizeable amount of work available for local businesses and tradespeople that puts investment back into our local communities." 48th CONS manages a 145-million pound portfolio and a wide range of contracts, including opportunities in services, commodities and construction.
