PRESS RELEASE: Missing person found deceased on RAF Lakenheath Published Nov. 19, 2018 By 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH -- Suffolk Police leading the search for 18-year-old Matthew Strasbaugh located a body on RAF Lakenheath the afternoon of Nov. 17 that has since been identified as the missing person.An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of death, but Suffolk detectives do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances involved.“We are deeply saddened this tragic loss has occurred, and thank the Suffolk Constabulary for their tremendous search and recovery efforts,” said Col. Will Marshall, 48th Fighter Wing commander. “On behalf of our entire Liberty Wing community, we offer our sincerest condolences to the Strasbaugh family and our neighbors at RAF Mildenhall.”Strasbaugh, a dependent of an RAF Mildenhall service member, was reported missing after last being seen on RAF Lakenheath the afternoon of Nov 13. After initial search efforts were unsuccessful, Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue initiated a search beginning with the base Nov. 17.“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Strasbaugh family,” said Col.
