Afterburner: The Hook-Up, an interactive presentation, educated Liberty Wing Airmen on sexual assault through discussions, visual aids, and humor May 8, 2013 at the Strike Eagle Complex.

More than 100 Airmen participated in the 90-minute Catharsis Production presentation, which is designed to cover key concepts and information to help people make responsible decisions regarding relationships, dating, consent, and bystander intervention.

The program's objective is for younger people to openly discuss the meanings of healthy relationships and what ideas to consider when creating them, according to Christian Murphy, executive director and co-owner of Catharsis Productions.

Heather Imrie, director of program development and creator of the program, along with Murphy presented the program with more focus on the culture of "hooking up."

The presenters used true cases to display the serious issues involved in sexual assaults.

"It was very motivational to do the right thing," said Senior Airman Michael Mac Farlane, 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron Aerospace Ground Equipment Journeyman.

Catharsis Productions is touring overseas Air Force bases to re-enforce the importance for Airmen to do the right things to stop sexual assaults.
