"Excellence in All We Do"

How does the individual portray that core value?

Engelbrecht displays "Excellence in All We Do" with quiet competence and a ferocious work ethic. He is ready for any challenge placed upon him, while always being ready to volunteer off-duty to grow as an Airman. His amazing creativity has been displayed at work and in his dorm by his continual contributions in artistic areas. He has added greatly to our unit by proposing updates to our unit emblems and coins, while at the same time, adding a stark reminder to his fellow dorm residents by creating an anti drinking and driving mural in his dormitory. His contributions both at work and at home provide a great example to his fellow Airmen and gives meaning to the Air Force core value of "Excellence in All We Do."

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?

I joined the military to try to find out who I wanted to be, and to be a part of something larger than myself. I wanted to prove to myself that I was strong enough to succeed.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?

Graduation day at basic was probably the proudest I've felt so far. Standing on the parade grounds, surrounded by hundreds of new brothers and sisters-in-arms was an amazing feeling.

What are your personal and/or professional goals?

I would like to take advantage of my GI Bill and go back to college and study automotive engineering so that I can start up a car shop with my best friend back home.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is knowing that without the communication security office, none of the jets would ever get off the ground; it makes me proud to do what we do.
