Diaz arrived at RAF Lakenheath ready to excel. He immediately marked himself as an Airman ready to lead and was therefore given leadership opportunities. He directed our flight's 6S (short, straighten, shine, safety, standardize and sustain) initiative by identifying 71 findings and performing a pre- inspection for the 2012 unit effectiveness inspection, of which we received an "Excellent" rating. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? Being the oldest of three children and the first in my family to serve, my goal is to represent the Air Force in a positive light and be a role model to my siblings. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? Leading the Air Force Smart Operations 21 objective for my flight, being nominated for Airman of the quarter and representing the 48th Fighter Wing as a member of the base volleyball team. What are your personal and/or professional goals? Earning a promotion, getting senior airman Below the Zone and being accepted to officer training school. What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of the job is getting to perform hands-on maintenance.
