ANNOUNCEMENTS

Commissary closure dates

Please take note of the following temporary Commissary closure and operating hours changes between RAFL & RAFM:

RAFL Commissary closure:

April 23 to April 27

To offset RAFL's Commissary closure, RAFM Commissary Operating hours will
be:

- April 23: 1000-2100
- April 24 to April 26 1000-1900, early bird 0930
- April 27 1000-1900, early bird 0930

Temporary hours are to allow RAFL to reset shelving throughout the store. Thank you for your understanding and an advance apology for any inconvenience.

Updated Visa reimbursement entitlements

Effective immediately, military members will be reimbursed for standard Visa application fees only. Premium expedited Visa fees will only be reimbursed with documented squadron commander approval and will be judged on a case by case basis. For more information, call the MPF at 226-1210 or the Civilian Personnel Section at 238-3065.

American Red Cross relocation

The American Red Cross office has relocated to building 872 on the first floor. The new building is on Rochester Rd. to the rear of the Lakenheath High School. Hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

New RAF Feltwell Veterinary Clinic hours

The RAF Feltwell Veterinary Clinic hours have changed to the following:

Monday - Friday - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

They also offer at least two evening clinics per month from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and one Saturday clinic per month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. These exceptions are only offered for wellness appointments. Basic surgical services are normally offered Monday through Thursday. For more information, call 226-7097.

New Allergy/Immunizations Clinic hours

The Allergy/Immunizations Clinic hours have changed to the following:

Mondays - 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Tuesdays - 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday - 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursdays and Fridays - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Passport issuance limitations for 2012

Due to the Olympics and Para-Olympics this summer, the Embassy will be heavily involved and will have reduced manpower. This will limit the ability to process passport applications. Passport issuance will be very limited, so if your passport is near its expiry date, apply as early as possible to get a new one.

Department of Defense Education Activity looking for feedback

DODEA is developing a new Community Strategic Plan for 2012-2016 and have launched a feedback website, http://cspfeedback.dodea.edu/ to gather opinions from parents, teachers, military leadership, children and anyone else that is interested.

SOCKS - Spouse On-Line Computer Knowledge and Skills

This is a free Airman and Family Readiness Center program designed to help spouses improve computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop and many other programs. For more information, contact the A&FRC at 226-3847.

RAFs Lakenheath and Mildenhall Job Shadow Day 2012

On Friday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. all DoDDS students are encouraged to take a unique opportunity to experience an up-close look at various careers on base. Parents are encouraged to participate as well. 48th MDG to collect unused prescription drugs

The 48th Medical Group will be collecting expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at the Base Exchange and BXtra April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency Take Back initiative, the service is free, anonymous and avoids health and safety hazards posed by flushing drugs down the toilet or throwing them in the trash. Harry Potter Tour

Join Information, Tickets & Travel for a Harry Potter Warner Brothers studio tour in London. Dates available are April 10, May 13, June 27 and August 26. Coach departs at 7:30 a.m. and will leave London at 4:30 p.m. Prices are £44 per adult and £37 per child between the ages of 5 and 15. For more information, call 226-2979.

American Red Cross job opening

The American Red Cross office located on RAF Lakenheath is announcing a job opening for the position of Filed Office Assistant. This position is a full-time paid staff position and will be filled by May.

All interested individuals must possess a British Visa and be able to work within the UK. The position is open to all family members of active duty service members, retired service members and their family members who are US citizens and family members of contractors who possess work visas for the UK.
