The Knight's Table Dining Facility reopens Oct. 14 following a five-month renovation.

The renovation, which began in June, has cost approximately $1.8 million.

"We appreciate everyone's patience during this renovation period, and look forward to opening our doors and serving the 48th Fighter Wing Airmen once again," said Master Sgt. Jessyca Sump, 48th Force Support Squadron dining facility manager.

The primary goal of the renovation was to bring the facility in line with current safety requirements, including a new fire suppression system and alarms, new lighting and non-slip flooring in the kitchen.

Airmen authorized to use the meal card system received basic allowance for subsistence while the dining facility was closed. With the reopening, BAS will end for those members on Oct. 14 and the deduction for meals will start back up.

Due to the date of the reopening, Airmen will be paid two extra days of BAS on their mid-month paycheck. This will result in a backdated meal deduction on their end-of-month paycheck to offset the overpayment.

Master Sgt. Brian Thomas, 48th CPTS Financial Services Flight chief, said this will not result in Airmen receiving notices to refund the overpayment.

"The process will be transparent to them," Thomas said, adding that all adjustments will be reflected in end-of-month leave and earnings statements.
