Core Value Portrayed: Service Before Self How does the individual portray that core value? Sergeant Schepperle is currently leading the "deployed in place" training project. He also passed on personal deployment experience to the Airmen providing the next generation of civil engineers the tools vital to succeed in today's deployed environment as part of the Air Force requirement for Home Station Training Projects to boost squadron Specific Status of Resources and Training System. The goal is to completely refurbish a deteriorated 3,000 square foot facility providing an enclosed squadron assembly point. He designed the project, procured all materials and is managing the day to day construction activities of 12 Airmen from seven Civil Engineering specialties. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? It is important to me because of what I have been able to do during my career. it has had a visible impact on improving base facilities and more importantly, that the varying people I have worked with and for, has profoundly benefitted myself as an individual. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? Performing humanitarian assistance for local children while deployed to the transit center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. What are your personal and/or professional goals? Get the job done. Get it done right and have a good time doing it. What is your favorite part of your job? A productive day so I'm actually tired when I get home.
