How does the individual portray that core value?

Senior Airman Jacob Widner continually displays excellence while working in the 748th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and 56th Helicopter Maintenance Unit Mobility Support sections. He currently is in charge of maintenance and inspection of all mission-essential equipment as well as all non-powered aircraft ground equipment within the unit. He continually surpasses expectations with the amount of effort he puts into every task set in front of him. He never quits and will not give up until the job is done to his high standards of excellence.

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?

I enjoy serving my country and deploying to exotic locations.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?

My first deployment to Afghanistan. It was amazing to see all the work we put in transferred to real-life rescues.

What are your personal and/or professional goals?

Finish school and work toward advancing my Air Force career.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Knowing what I do contributes to saving lives.
