Combined Federal Campaign begins Published Oct. 4, 2010 48th Fighter Wing staff report ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The Combined Federal Campaign, which runs from Oct. 4 until Dec. 3 this year, was established to support and promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. "An informed pledge to a CFC charity is a great way to support your community and help improve the quality of life for others," said Master Sgt. Jeremy Newman, CFC community area project officer. "Take the time to review the charities associated with CFC and make an informed decision to give. There are U.S. national and international charities covering areas from humanities and education, to health as well as medical research, youth development and spiritual development to name just a few." The CFC-Overseas campaign is unique from campaigns at stateside assignments because in addition to the more than 2,000 national and international charitable organizations, the CFC overseas campaign also offers the Family Support and Youth Program, said Tech. Sgt. Richard Duvall, CFC community area project officer. "Contributions to FSYP result in 100 percent of those donations collected returned to overseas installations where the contributors benefit from them directly," he said. After an informed decision, contributions are made using the following methods. Federal employees can choose to pay by allotments from their paychecks, make one-time cash or check donation or go online and make a credit card donation. Unit representatives are assigned to provide 100-percent informed opportunity to personnel within their units to let them know about the campaign and can provide more guidance on how to contribute. "In addition to our key workers, the next best place for information on the campaign is at the Web site: www.cfcoverseas.org," Sergeant Newman said.
