Absentee Voting Week Sept. 27-Oct. 4
All personnel are encouraged to return their ballot immediately upon receiving it or use the back-up Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB). If you have not received your ballot, visit the following website: http://www.fvap.gov/FPCA/index.html.

Mentor Program at Lakenheath Elementary School
LES is seeking adult volunteers to work one hour a week with third grade students in the Mentor Program. The program meets during lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Monday, beginning Nov. 8. Mentors work one-on-one with students to foster achievement at school by building a positive, caring relationship. Activities include eating lunch together, doing 10-15 minutes of academic review, and then enjoying some social time, such as playing board games. There will be an introduction and assistance to complete paperwork for the Mentor Program Oct. 18 at 11:30 in the school's Parent Center. This is a great way to be involved in the lives of children. Free/Reduced School Lunch Program
A child must enroll in the program each school year (August 2010 --July 2011). Please fill out the USAFE Form 400 in its entirety to include spouse information (if applicable), PSC, Box, and DEROS information. Under total members of household section, please include all members of household to include college students under the age of 25, adopted children, a child of joint custody, and a child living with one parent, and relatives or friends. Under the family's total gross monthly income, please include income from social security, child support, unemployment compensation, hazardous duty pay, hostile fire pay, and family separation pay. Lastly, if the sponsor is deploying, you may deduct the amount of income that the deployed member needs for living expenses. For more information contact the School Liasion Office at 226-5077/5078.

MPS Limited Services Oct. 4-18

Due to the October exercise, services will be limited throughout Customer Support (Ground Floor), Force Management (First Floor), and Career Development (First Floor). No appointments will be available during this window. If your CAC/ID card expires on or after Oct. 20 we will not renew your card - we will still do unblocks and updates. Ration Cards, DEERS updates, Student Travel Orders, and BAS will be completed on an emergency basis only. For questions or immediate assistance contact Master Sgt. Paula Pond at DSN 226-1713.

RAF Feltwell Pet Fest
The RAF Feltwell Veterinary Clinic will host a Pet Fest in the field outside the clinic Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome even if they don't have pets. Pets can participate in contests including best pet trick and fastest fetch. There will also be a military working dog demonstration and information booths. For more information, call 226-7097.

Children's Health Fair
A health fair for children and their parents will be held Oct. 5 at the Child Development Center West from 4 to 6 p.m. Information will be available on asthma, cold and flu care, hand hygiene, seat belt safety, dental hygiene and immunization. No injectable flu vaccines will be administered to children or adults at the health fair. Only children who qualify to receive the Flumist after being screened will be vaccinated. No Online Booking for Hotels
Effective Nov. 1, online hotel booking agents that don't provide a detailed itemized receipt will not be reimbursed, even with a lost receipt form. For more information call the Financial Services Flight at 226-2475.

Fitness Boot Camp
Get in shape for the holidays with Fitness Boot Camp at the Fitness & Sports Center. Two sessions are available for this six-week program from Oct. 11 through Nov. 18. Ages 18 and older are invited to participate. $300 per person. Call 226-3607 for more information.

Crosswalk Volunteers Needed
With the start of the new school year everyone in the community, to include military, U.S./MOD civilian personnel, parents and contractors, need to ensure that children are kept safe while walking to and from school. Five volunteers are needed twice a day to ensure coverage throughout the high-traffic areas. The crosswalks are located near the Lords-Walk housing area, the Housing Office, the roundabout by Liberty Intermediate School and the Lakenheath Elementary School roundabout. Depending on location, the crosswalks are manned from approximately 7:30 to 8:10 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:10 p.m. To volunteer, contact the School Liaison Office at 226-5077/5078 or email 48MSG.CCL@lakenheath.af.mil.

Spouse Tuition Assistance
Applications are now being accepted for the Spouse Tuition Assistance Program (STAP). Visit the Education Office in Building 948 to pick up an application. Take advantage of this unique benefit to overseas active duty spouses. Call 226-3851 for more details.

Child Care Fee Policy Change
New fee ranges for Department of Defense child care have been created and will go into effect no later than Sept. 30. The ranges are based on family income and are as follows:
$125,000+: $137 - $139
$100,001 - $125,000: $134 - $136
$85,001 - $100,000: $131 - $133
$73,501 - $85,000: $122 - $130
$57,751 - $73,500: $106 - $121
$46,201 - $57,750: $91 - $105
$35,701 - $46,200: $75 - $90
$29,401 - $35,700: $60 - $74
$0 - $29,400: $44 - $59

Trespass Notice
The 48th Security Forces Squadron Combat Arms firing range complex that supports RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall is located at Building 230, RAF Feltwell. The range complex is in the southwest corner of the base and is surrounded by a perimeter fence clearly marked by danger signs. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. When firing is in progress, red range flags or red flashing beacons will be visible from all range complex entrance points. Unauthorized entry to the range complex is illegal and hazardous due to gunfire and airborne lead particles within the complex. DANTES Changes
Due to budget cuts, DANTES will no longer fund retests on CLEP and DSST exams. Current exam fees are $80 per DSST, and $120 per CLEP. DANTES will also stop funding certification exams as of October 2011.

Information regarding importing vehicles to the UK
The DVLA no longer requires military members to obtain an original hard copy of their insurance certificates for imported registration purposes. Personnel can now print their insurance certificates by accessing their policy online; however, faxed, photocopied or scanned copies are still not accepted.
