E-mail scams are categorized as: advance fee fraud, lottery scams, phishing or data mining, auction scams, employment scams and financial or investment scams. Offers of money, investments or employment, requests for personal information, money or favors, and warnings of account problems or deletion are 99.9 percent scams. When an e-mail might need your attention, call, e-mail or personally visit the company or use their real Web site. Never use the link provided! You might be surprised just what is in your e-mail account. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
