48 Fighter Wing Commander Signs National Fire Prevention Week Proclamation

Fire Prevention Week Oct. 3-9

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The following events are scheduled to mark Fire Prevention Week:

· Oct. 3 - Pancake breakfast in Fire Station 1, Building 1200, at 9 a.m.

· Oct. 4-5 - Suffolk Fire Experience Unit visit Lakenheath Elementary and Intermediate Schools.

· Oct. 4-7 - Information kiosk, static vehicle display, fire extinguisher training, and chip pan demonstrator at the Base Exchange and Commissary from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

· Oct. 4-7 - School poster and essay contest (grade specific) for all schools.

· Oct. 5 - Sparky the Firedog visits Child Development Centers, Buildings 439 and 659, from 9 to 11 a.m.

· Oct. 6 - Vehicle extrication demonstration at the Base Exchange at 11 a.m.

· Oct. 7 - Community awareness project with American Youth Association at Youth Center in Liberty Village at 5 p.m.

· Oct. 8 - Golf tournament at 8 a.m.

· Oct. 9 - Emergency service vehicle parade in base housing at 9 a.m.
