48th Fighter Wing Community Awareness Bulletin Published Aug. 24, 2010 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Whether stationed in the U.K. or just traveling, all personnel are reminded to keep the following security tips in mind: · Review individual protection measures for yourself and family members. · Remain vigilant and report suspicious activity away from the bases to local police (999). · Exercise good judgment when traveling outside the protected area of the base. · Consider avoiding large off-installation events and high-density public transportation during peak hours. · Be alert to your surroundings and cautious of your conversation while utilizing public transportation or in public venues. · Avoid planned demonstration areas or spontaneous rallies. · Maintain 100 percent passport/ID card accountability. · Notify your chain of command of travel plans ensuring they have an accurate means of contacting you in case of emergency. · Do not display large sums of money. · Stay low-key as much as possible. · Do not dress in a manner in which you stand out...Blend in! Furthermore, Eagle Eyes is a global "neighborhood watch" program for the deterrence of terrorism by recognizing and reporting pre-attack activities. Pre-attack activities may include the following: surveillance, elicitation of information, tests of security, acquiring supplies, suspicious persons out of place, dry runs and deploying assets.
