Memorial Day Ceremony to be held Monday Published May 27, 2010 By Staff Reports 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- The U.S. Embassy in London, Third Air Force and RAF Mildenhall hold the annual Cambridge-American Military Cemetery Memorial Service May 31 at 11 a.m. at Madingley American Cemetery , Cambridge. The event honors the memory of the American World War II service members who gave their life to achieve victory in Europe against the Axis powers. More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the event. Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Hugh Duberly, is scheduled to represent the U.K., while U.S. Defense Attaché in London, Rear Adm. Ronald Henderson, is slated to represent America. Both gentlemen will speak at the ceremony. The event is open to military, their family members and civilians. The uniform of the day is service dress. One bus, geared toward Airmen living on base, will depart from the Bob Hope Community Center at 9 a.m. Those wishing to drive should arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. The post code for Madingley American Cemetery - Cambridge is CB23 7PH.
