HH-60G Flightline Expediter portrays 'Service Before Self' Published March 31, 2010 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Name and Rank: Tech. Sgt. Martin Sebok Unit: 748th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 56th Helicopter Maintenance Unit Duty Title: HH-60G Flightline Expediter, HH-60G Phase Dock chief Time in Service: 13 years, 10 months Time at Lakenheath: 1 year Hometown: Southgate, Mich. Hobbies: It has been over a year since I have been able to do anything consistently enough (off work) to consider it a hobby. I guess I spend the majority of my time off with my family seeing Europe. Core Value Portrayed: "Service Before Self" How does the individual portray that core value? Tech. Sgt. Sebok portrays this core value better than anyone I have ever met. A few months back when he was told he would be taking over as the HH-60G Phase Dock chief and would have to spend countless extra hours to prepare, as this is an additional duty and he would still have to expedite as well, he accepted this challenge with no questions asked. Recently, he was presented another challenge when he was asked to be the subject matter expert and facilitator for an Aircraft Jacket File Working Group. Once again he accepted the task and worked 12 hour shifts for 10 days. Look up the definition of "Service Before Self", and you will see his picture. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? The Air Force provided me direction and gave me purpose when I had none. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? My education. What are your personal and/or professional goals? I plan to continue to progress professionally in the Air Force without limits, someday hold a position in wing safety and utilize my degree. Eventually I want to gain enough experience to serve in a National Transportation Safety Board position. What is your favorite part of your job? When I see all the pieces of my hard work finally fall into place and the desired outcome has been achieved or exceeded, regardless of how complex or trivial the task.
