New e-file finance system offers convenience Published March 23, 2010 By Staff Sgt. Connor Estes 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The 48th Comptroller Squadron is now offering a new online system to file finance documents called E-finance. E-finance is an online Military Pay finance document center that allows customers to file documents in their office or at home any time of day. The system was designed to make filing necessary documents easier on the customer by eliminating the need to physically visit the finance office. It also reduces wait times for customers who still need to file documents in person. "If you can't do it online, the system will direct you to the necessary forms," said Staff Sgt. Kyle Irish, 48th Comptroller Squadron NCO in charge of special actions. "You can then fill out the forms and bring them into the finance office. Being prepared will significantly lower your wait time." The E-finance system can be accessed through the finance section of the Air Force Portal. A common access card reader is required for customers to electronically sign and file forms. The system allows users to file Milpay and travel documents, advance pay, allotments and direct deposits, state of legal residence changes, lost receipt forms and secondary dependent determinations, and many more. The system asks step-by-step questions and fills out forms automatically. Once a form is filed, the finance office will review it and accept or reject it. If it is rejected, the customer will be informed of what information is needed and assistance will be offered. "Another feature that makes this system great for the customer is that you don't have to complete a whole form at the same time," said 1st Lt. Alan Rodriguez, 48th CPTS financial services officer. "Personnel can put in what they know and it automatically saves what is entered, so they can enter and exit whenever they want." While E-finance brings convenience, the finance office will still be available for one-on-one help.
