48th Maintenance Group change of command Published July 7, 2009 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Col. Dorothy Silvanic took command of the 48th Maintenance Group from Col. Marcus Novak in a change of command ceremony July 7. Colonel Silvanic is the former Headquarters United States Air Forces in Europe Aircraft and Munitions Maintenance Division chief from Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Colonel Novak will become the special assistant to the commander for nuclear matters at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The ceremony was presided over by Col. Scott Reed, 48th Fighter Wing vice commander. The 48th MXG is responsible for all organizational and intermediate level maintenance for F-15 C/D/E and HH-60G aircraft , engines, munitions and support equipment used by three fighter squadrons and one rescue squadron to accomplish U.S. Air Forces in Europe, U.S. European Command and North Atlantic Treaty Organization commitments and taskings. The group ensures readiness for all personnel and aircraft fleet health through planning, analysis and programming for manpower, funds, equipment, training and facility requirements.
