RAF Feltwell to host July 4th events Published June 29, 2009 By From Staff Reports 48th Fighter WingWing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The 48th Fighter Wing will host an American Independence Day celebration July 4 at RAF Feltwell. Gates open to the public at noon and close after the fireworks display, which will begin at 10 p.m. Area road delays are expected due to the number of visitors in the area. One of the major highlights of the day will be a live performance of Tops in Blue, an active-duty U.S. Air Force special unit made up of talented Airmen selected for their entertainment abilities. The variety show will include pop, R&B, country and Latin music and starts at 8:30 p.m. Other events, shows and booths include: Carnival rides Game booths Kids play area Car show Birds of prey demonstration Martial Arts demonstration American Southern Barbecue Animals, with the exception of those for the disabled, will not be allowed into the festival area. For security reasons, all items being brought into the festival area will be searched before the owner can proceed past the entry point.
