There are 135 slots available through the Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development Program. Newsletter The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Field Office, London, will be issuing a periodic newsletter specifically addressed to active duty military members and their foreign born spouses, fiancées and children assigned to U.S. military bases in the United Kingdom and Norway. The periodic newsletter will routinely cover topics on a multitude of immigration issues such as obtaining a visa, green card and naturalization specific to the military community. Most pets importable stateside People moving stateside this summer may take most types of pets with them if they plan ahead. However, endangered species laws prevent people from taking some turtles, birds and reptiles to the United States. Wine devotees can get collections stateside Many Americans start a wine collection while stationed in Europe. With some advance planning, wine connoisseurs can still enjoy their favorite European vintages when they move to their new stateside homes. Keep banned foodstuffs out of U.S. Personnel shipping household goods to the USA this summer should be careful when packing the contents of their kitchen, agriculture officials advise. The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issues fines of $300 to $1,000 to first-time offenders who ignore the strict rules that apply to sending food products stateside. Know before you go this summer People moving to the States this summer should start preparing now by finding new homes for the things that are banned from import. It is also a good idea to apply early for import permits on restricted items since the process can take months. For more information, call 226-3421. 48th SFS Entry Authority List notice Do you have a special event or base tour coming up and need to sponsor 10 or more visitors onto base, The Security Forces Visitor Control Center here can help develop an Entry Authority List (EAL) to save time on the day of an event. Guests wishing to visit are required to present a valid form of identification (passport, state or national government issued identity card or drivers license with a picture, state or national driver license without a picture). British Post Office At the British Post Office, Airmen can pay everything from gas and water bills to telephone and mail orders. The post office also has the ability to cash and deposit checks to select banks, as well as issue and redeem money orders and exchange currencies. In addition to handling money for Airmen, the British Post Office also sells a variety of insurance, from travel to car and home insurance. Airmen can also get a road tax license issued, as well as a selection of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency application forms. For more information, visit the British Post Office.
