EMS Airman exemplifies 'Excellence in All We Do'

Airman 1st Class Christopher E. Matthews, 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance journeyman, was nominated for the Liberty Spotlight by his chain of command because he practices the Air Force core value of "Excellence in All We Do."

Core Value portrayed: Airman Matthews displays "Excellence in All We Do" by taking great pride in the work he does for the 48th EMS. His drive and initiative to be the best at everything he is tasked to do is shown in the quality of the finished products. We consistently receive praise from outside agencies about the paint processes he has been involved with on the aircraft and the graphic designs he produces. Airman Matthews' constant drive for perfection plays a big role in receiving this recognition.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?
Being selected for the 2008 Air Force wrestling team.

What are your personal and career goals?
I would like to run my own paint and body fabrication shop and obtain the skills that I need in life to be successful after I retire as a senior non-commissioned officer, a chief master sergeant.
