Town Hall Briefs
The 48th CES commander would like to invite all Military Family Housing residents to the following Town Hall briefings. The first brief will take place at RAF Mildenhall's base theatre, May 13 at 10 a.m. The second brief will be at RAF Lakenheath's Strike Eagle Complex, May 14 at 7 p.m. These briefings will cover the future of your housing areas based on the results of the 2008, recently approved, Housing Requirements and Market Analysis.

FMO closure
The Furnishings Management Office located on RAF Feltwell will be closed May 25 and 26 for a British Bank Holiday.

Quarterly Birthday Meal
All airmen with a birthday in April, May or June can bring one guest May 15, 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. to the Knight's Table Military Dining Facility to enjoy a quarterly birthday meal.
Menu will include shrimp cocktail, grilled T-bone steak, fried shrimp, lobster tails, twice-baked potatoes, rice pilaf, green beans, garlic cheese biscuits, cake and ice cream. RSVP by Thursday, May 14 to Airman 1st Class Amanda Fairhold at 226-2910. This meal will be free to meal card holders and a la carte for cash guests.

Flightline Barber Shop
The Flightline Barber Shop will be open Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins and Appointments Welcome. For more information, call 226-3421.

48th SFS Entry Authority List notice
Do you have a special event or base tour coming up and need to sponsor 10 or more visitors onto base, The Security Forces Visitor Control Center here can help develop an Entry Authority List (EAL) to save time on the day of an event. Guests wishing to visit are required to present a valid form of identification (passport, state or national government issued identity card or drivers license with a picture, state or national driver license without a picture). Children 9 years old or under are not required to have identification. Contact Staff Sgt. Kelvin Hannah at 226-5916 two to three weeks before an event to assist with the process.

Trespass notice
The firing range that supports RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall is located at RAF Feltwell. The range complex is in the southwest corner of the base and is surrounded by a perimeter fence clearly marked by danger signs. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. When firing is in progress, the red range flags or red flashing beacons will be visible from all range entrance points. Unauthorized entry in to the range is not only illegal, but also hazardous due to the airborne lead particles.

British Post Office
At the British Post Office, Airmen can pay everything from gas and water bills to telephone and mail orders. The post office also has the ability to cash and deposit checks to select banks, as well as issue and redeem money orders and exchange currencies. In addition to handling money for Airmen, the British Post Office also sells a variety of insurance, from travel to car and home insurance. Airmen can also get a road tax license issued, as well as a selection of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency application forms. For more information, visit the British Post Office.

Survivor Benefit Plan
A military retiree is guaranteed a monthly income for life. However, military retired pay stops on the date the retiree dies. The Survivor Benefit Plan was created to protect widowed spouses and dependent children from complete loss of income. For more information, call 226-3070.

Mom's Central
Moms from every walk of life can benefit in connecting with other moms at the Health and Wellness Center every Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. . This free class is offered as an opportunity to network and develop new relationships, where you can share information and advice about childcare, feeding concerns and concerns with childrearing. RAF Lakenheath Education Center

CCAF Graduation
A Community College of the Air Force Graduation will be held Friday, May 15 at 1 p.m at the Eagles' Landing. For more information, call, the Education Center at 226-3851.

Education Week
The Education center is celebrating Education week, May 11 to 15 by offering the following classes and seminars:

-General Education Briefing May 11, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Strike Eagle Complex
Attendees will learn general information about education possibilities.

-GI Bill briefing May 12, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Strike Eagle Complex. Attendees will learn differences between the Montgomery and 9/11 GI Bill.

-Certification briefing is May 13, 10 a.m. to 12 .p.m., at the Strike Eagle Complex. Attendees will learn about the different certifications offered.

-Open House is May 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Education Center. Attendees will meet university and Education Center staff and speak about what education options are available.

America's Kids Run
The Lakenheath Youth Center is sponsoring America's Kids Run May 16, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Sign up for this free event at americaskidsrun.org. For more information or to sign up, call 226-KIDS (5437).

Mom & Tots Fun

Fit Pet Challenge
Sign your pet up for this weight loss challenge April 4 to July 4. With education and support, local Air Force communities can help improve their pets' overall health and quality of life.
