Hangar 7 Gets a Bubble Bath Published April 21, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Perry Aston 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH -- The 48th Maintenance group ran a Fire Suppression System test April 20, 2009 inside Hangar 7. The Firefighting foam dispensed in the hangar reached three feet high in under four minutes. Firefighting foam is more preferred then just water because, firefighting foam has the ability to knock down the fire, contain the explosive vapors of a flammable liquid fire, and the foam can form a protective film over the flammable liquid.
