48th OSS NCO in-charge exemplifies Air Force core values

Staff Sgt. Carlos Spells, 48th Operations Support Squadron NCO in-charge of airfield management operations, was nominated for the Liberty Spotlight by his chain of command because he practices the Air Force core values of "Service before Self" and "Excellence in All We Do".

Core Value Portrayed: Staff Sgt. Carlos Spells is an outstanding example of "Service Before Self" and "Excellence in All We Do." "It's not the hours you put in your work that count; it's the work you put in your hours." SSgt Spells worked more than 60 extra hours during weekends and holidays supporting temporarily assigned RC and KC-135s missions, and deployment opperations.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? 
Currently, I am most proud of being selected for the rank of Tech. Sgt.

What are your personal and career goals?
My personal goal is to complete my Bachelor of Science in Management Studies. My career aspiration is to become a Senior NCO so I can share my knowledge and experience to help develop and nurture our Airmen. People are truly the Air Force's most important assets.
