Military Saves Week begins campaign Published Feb. 17, 2009 By Senior Airman Stacy Sanchez 48 Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The 2009 Military Saves Week Campaign at RAF Lakenheath will begin Feb. 22 to March. 1. Throughout the week, base agencies will come together in a marketing extravaganza to persuade, motivate and encourage military families to save money every month, and to convince leaders and organizations to be aggressive in promoting automatic savings. "Military Saves Week is a social network that brings people together to take the pledge to build wealth, not debt," said Teresa Torelli, Military Saves Week coordinator. "Its prime function is to help and support military members and their loved ones to build personal savings." During the week there will be information booths located at the Commissary, library, community center and the base's fitness center providing activities and financial workshops to help put people in the right direction financially. "Anyone can come by and pick up information on the campaign," said Connie Visitacion, Airman and Family Readiness Center community relations consultant. "Our community readiness consultants are available to come into your business or squadron to encourage saving money. Just like grandma says, "We should all save for a rainy day."
