48th OSS Airman practices Service Before Self Published Feb. 5, 2009 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Staff Sgt. Michael Hall, 48th Operations Support Squadron control tower watch supervisor, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he practices the Air Force core value of "Service Before Self." During the latest round of contingency operations at RAF Lakenheath, Sergeant Hall served as the control tower watch supervisor during most of the arrivals and departures for airlift support. He maintained a calm, flexible, "can do" attitude during all of the mission slips, arrival delays, and airfield flow maneuvers and ensured each aircraft and mission received outstanding support from the control tower. By stepping up as the single tower POC for these operations, the other tower controllers were free to continue making RAF Lakenheath's primary mission continue to happen; launching and recovering airpower. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? Getting my 7-level in Air Traffic Control and becoming Watch supervisor qualified. What are your personal and career goals?
