Lakenheath Men's Varsity Softball 
The Lakenheath Men's Softball Team will be holding a meeting at the Liberty Club Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. We will be discussing try outs, uniforms, tournaments, fundraisers etc. It's open to all active duty, DOD civilians, and dependents over the age of 18. Pre-inaugural event
The African-American Heritage Association will hold a pre-inagural celebration Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Eagle's Landing. For event information or tickets, call 07910 270693 or 07895 550009.

British Post Office
At the British Post Office, Airmen can pay everything from gas and water bills to telephone and mail orders. The post office also has the ability to cash and deposit checks to select banks, as well as issue and redeem money orders and exchange currencies. In addition to handling money for Airmen, the British Post Office also sells a variety of insurance, from travel to car and home insurance. Airmen can also get a road tax license issued, as well as a selection of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency application forms. For more information, visit the British Post Office.

Survivor Benefit Plan
A military retiree is guaranteed a monthly income for life. However, military retired pay stops on the date the retiree dies. The Survivor Benefit Plan was created to protect widowed spouses and dependent children from complete loss of income. For more information, call 226-3070.

RAF Lakenheath Education Center

Education Center extended hours
The Education Center and representatives from the on base schools ( UMUC, CTC, Oklahoma University, and University of Phoenix) will join Embry riddle Aeronautical University near the flight line in bldg. 1215 to offer office hours every third Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting Jan. 15. Airmen and Family Readiness Center January Classes:

Employment Connections
An Employment Connections briefing will be held Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. This class will help you learn about the local labor market and find out what jobs are available on and off base. Personnel specialists will be available to answer questions concerning their hiring procedures.

3-Day TAP Workshop
A 3-day Transition Assistance Program briefing will be held Jan. 20 to 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. TAP workshops are conducted by professionally trained facilitators. Participants will learn how to write effective resumes and cover letters, interviewing techniques and successful job search methods.

Smooth Move Exit
A Smooth Move Exit briefing will be held Jan. 5 and 26 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Provides a consolidated briefing of relocation services brought to you by Wing agencies such as TMO PAX, TMO Household goods, Finance, Housing, Tricare, etc.

Pet Scoop
A Pet Scoop briefing will be held Jan. 5 and 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. This class brings in pet specialists to answer questions regarding transportation requirements for pets and to assist military families in properly planning for the shipment of their pets.

VA Benefits Briefing
A VA Benefits briefing will be held Jan. 5 and 23 from 8 a.m. to noon. Topics to be covered include; VA Home Loan, Montgomery GI Bill, Vocational Rehab, Disability Qualifications Guidelines, and much more.
