48th CMS Airman practices Service Before Self

Tech. Sgt. Brian Parker, 48th Component Maintenance Squadron assistant support section chief, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he practices the Air Force core value of "Service Before Self."

Core Value Portrayed: Service Before Self--Sergeant Parker goes above and beyond while serving as the Propulsion Flight's equipment custodian. He is responsible for 3,260 support equipment items valued at $5 million. His work ethic and meticulous management are major factors that ensure tooling and equipment is available to support the F-100 engine Centralized Repair Facility (CRF) and home station flying operations.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? 
Receiving a line number for technical sergeant is one of my biggest accomplishments. Also, the overall challenges of being an NCO at a higher level and proving I can overcome those challenges.

What are your personal and career goals? 
My personal goals are to spend more time with family and travel throughout Europe. My career goal is to complete my CCAF Degree, become a SNCO and prepare future AF leaders.
