I'm the eldest child in my family and it is definitely important to me that I set an example for my brothers and sister. It's easy for me now to look back at the lazy, pessimistic state I was in before I joined the Air Force and see the changes it has made in me in only two years. I hope by serving in the Air Force I will motivate my siblings to be more responsible and lead a better life. Also, I whole heartedly believe in being proud of where you come from. Serving my country as a member of the Air Force fulfills this for me as an American. I can't imagine being anywhere else in my life than right here. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? Before I joined the Air Force I was barely going to college and barely working a part time job. I didn't have any real direction or aspirations in my life. I never expected myself to be in charge of anything. One of the requirements I have to do as a contracting specialist is conduct site visits. Still to this day I get the greatest feeling of accomplishment when I am leading five or six vendors around a site and everyone is looking to me for answers. Me, a 22-year-old college dropout, leading men and women around who have been doing business and working for a living for years. I am most proud of the responsibility I have been given as a contracting specialist to have the latitude to lead these visit all on my own without supervision.
