Joint Civilian Orientation Conference visits Liberty Wing Published Sept. 25, 2008 By 48th Fighter Wing Public Affiars Office ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The Joint Civilian Orientation Conference visited RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall Sept. 23 to expand their knowledge of the U.S. military. According to http://jcoc.dod.mil/about.jsf the JCOC is a program sponsored by the Secretary of Defense for civilian public opinion leaders interested in growing their knowledge of the military and national defense issues. The JCOC is the oldest existing Pentagon outreach program having been held more than 75 times since 1948. The participants were able to see USAFE's war-fighting capabilities with an aerial demonstration, aircraft static displays and several exhibitions from various agencies including explosive ordnance disposal, Air Force Special Operations, weapons and military working dogs. The JCOC group will continue their trip around the globe, visiting every branch of the military.
