Outstanding performers shine in ATSEP inspection Published Sept. 11, 2008 By Airman 1st Class Torri K. Larson 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- (Editor's note: This is the final part of a three-part series on the successful Air Traffic System Evaluation Program inspection.) The 48th Operations Support Squadron was recently inspected by an Air Traffic System Evaluation Program team and boasted a successful outcome. It was a concentrated team effort with not only 48th OSS personnel, but individuals from the 48th Communications Squadron and the 48th Civil Engineer Squadron. "Normally (the team) gives up to three outstanding performer awards, but they gave the 48th Fighter Wing nine," said Chief Master Sgt. Joseph Ryan, 48th OSS RAPCON chief controller. Those recognized were Tech. Sgt. Ralph Miller, Tech. Sgt. Robert Davis, Tech. Sgt. Hubert Drake, Tech. Sgt. Clint Logan, Tech. Sgt. Robert Coad, Staff Sgt. Latoya Hudson, 48th OSS, Airman 1st Class Benett Mack, Airman 1st Class Justin Gambon, 48th CS, and Mrs. Barbara Quigley, 48th CES. "I was really surprised about the award," Sergeant Hudson said. "I didn't do it by myself, though. Everyone pitched in; to me, we're all outstanding performers." The other Airmen agreed that the recognition came as a surprise. "I was just doing my job," Airman Gambon said. To prepare for the inspection, he made sure all the paperwork was updated including technical orders, publications and forms, and emails. His supervisor said Airman Gambon and Airman Mack both performed at an NCO level. "It felt good to be awarded," Airmen Mack said. "It's always nice to get personal recognition for the work you do."
