The 48th Fighter Wing chapel is holding its first marriage seminar Sept. 20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Spiritual Life Center on RAF Feltwell.

The purpose of the seminar is to help build relationships for couples that may be having difficulties and for those who have a solid foundation.

"As chaplains, we do a lot of marriage counseling and we see (marital issues) as being a key issue," said Chaplain (Capt.) Richard Holmes. "If a person's marriage isn't doing well, then they are going to have a hard time focusing on the mission."

During the seminar, participants will view seven different video tapes based off of the books written by Dr. Kevin Leman, a world renowned psychologist. The tapes will cover several different topics, which are:
1. DESIGNED TO BE DIFFERENT
Balancing the Challenges and Benefits of Two Distinctive Personalities

2. WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE?
Doing Your Best for the One You Love the Most

3. STRIKING THE PERFECT MATCH
How Birth Order Affects Who You Are and the Marriage of Your Dreams

4. LOOKING FOR LOVE IN TWO SPECIAL FACES
How Kids Grow and Thrive Through Mom and Dad's Relationship

5. DON'T ROCK THE JUKEBOX!
Resolving Conflicts by Turning On and Tuning In

6. SEX BEGINS IN THE KITCHEN
How to Light the Fire and Keep the Flame Burning

7. ENJOYING THE JOURNEY
Become ONE in a Marriage That Will Last a Lifetime

"Most people think that if they go to a marriage seminar, it means that there is something wrong with their marriage, but that's not always the case," said Chaplain Holmes. "The seminar is a great way to improve a solid relationship."

According to http://www.census.gov/, at the end of couple's therapy, 75 percent of couples receiving therapy are better off than similar couples who did not receive therapy.

"This seminar can do nothing but help marriages grow stronger," said Chaplain Holmes. "Whether you have a strong marriage or whether you have a marriage that's suffering, this seminar can help take you to the next level."
