Labor Day observance
U.S. Labor Day (Observed Sept. 1), supervisors may wish to use a liberal leave policy especially if work requirements are reduced significantly on the holiday. Ministry of Defense Employees are required to work, or they may request leave. Activities should schedule workloads to ensure effective utilization of MOD employees. Employees will be excused from duty, with pay, only when circumstances prevent management from assigning duties. (For Industrial MOD Employees: Compensatory days earned according to the Industrial working time administration arrangement is taken on US Holidays. Employees that do not have compensatory time to their credit will be required to work or may request leave.)

British Post Office
At the British Post Office, Airmen can pay everything from gas and water bills to telephone and mail orders. The post office also has the ability to cash and deposit checks to select banks, as well as issue and redeem money orders and exchange currencies. In addition to handling money for Airmen, the British Post Office also sells a variety of insurance, from travel to car and home insurance. Airmen can also get a road tax license issued, as well as a selection of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency application forms. For more information, visit the British Post Office.

MUNS closure
During the Month of September the Munitions Squadron will be performing a 100 percent Stockpile inventory. All customers must have any issue requests in by Sept. 3. The inventory will begin the Sept. 8 and the only Issue Request accepted during the inventory will be emergency requests on a case by case basis. Questions and concerns should be directed to Munitions Accountability at ext 1961 or 3258.

Survivor Benefit Plan
A military retiree is guaranteed a monthly income for life. However, military retired pay stops on the date the retiree dies. The Survivor Benefit Plan was created to protect widowed spouses and dependent children from complete loss of income. For more information, call 226-3070.

Teen Dance
