The 48th Force Support Squadron is accepting entries for their annual Art Gallery Showcase Sept. 2 through 15 at the Arts and Crafts Center.

The showcase is a way for anyone on base to participate in revealing any hidden artistic talent they may have.

"I'm always so impressed with the level of professionalism that we see in the entries," said Suzanne Seabridge, 48th FSS Arts and Crafts Center manager. "There is so much talent here."

Ms. Seabridge said there are three categories of competition: 6-12 years, 13-17 years and an adult category. Each participant may enter up to three photographs or three pieces of art. The submissions are photographed and sent to USAFE. After review, they are forwarded to an Air Force-level competition.

"I love the idea that there isn't any competition at the base level, but that when it goes to the Air Force level there is an element of competition," Ms. Seabridge said.

She hopes to display photo submissions in the Arts and Crafts Center. There is also a recognition ceremony Oct. 8 at the Eagle's Landing, where all submissions can be viewed in a power point presentation.

"I really enjoyed the showcase last year," said Christine Davis, military spouse. "It's a great opportunity for the spouses and dependants to get involved."

Her submission from last year went to the Air Force level and she will be receiving an Air Force art coin at the recognition ceremony in October.

Ms. Seabridge encourages everyone to submit something and said she is looking forward to what she'll see this year.
