Change of Command
Col. John Kresin will assume command of the 48th Dental Squadron from Col. Douglas Wilson in a ceremony at the Eagles' Landing July 14 at 2:00 p.m. For more information, call 226-8797.

Senior Airman Benjamin Gonzalez estate claim
Effective June 6, Capt. Matthew Borawski, 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, is detailed as the Summary Court Officer to secure and make proper disposition of the personal effects of SrA Benjamin J. Gonzalez, deceased. Anyone having knowledge of money or property due to deceased or claims against the estate can call 226-6042.

British Post Office
At the British Post Office, Airmen can pay everything from gas and water bills to telephone and mail orders. The post office also has the ability to cash and deposit checks to select banks, as well as issue and redeem money orders and exchange currencies. In addition to handling money for Airmen, the British Post Office also sells a variety of insurance, from travel to car and home insurance. Airmen can also get a road tax license issued, as well as a selection of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency application forms. For more information, visit the British Post Office.

Survivor Benefit Plan
A military retiree is guaranteed a monthly income for life. However, military retired pay stops on the date the retiree dies. The Survivor Benefit Plan was created to protect widowed spouses and dependent children from complete loss of income. For more information, call 226-3070.

Airman and Family Readiness Center classes and briefings

Pre-Separation Briefing
A pre-separation briefing will be held July 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. This class fulfills the mandatory requirement for all personnel retiring/separating from the military.

Smooth Move Exit
A smooth move exit class will be held July 21 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Spouses are encouraged to attend the briefing. Topics covered include TMO, finance, housing and Tricare.

Pet Scoop
A pet scoop class will be held July 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. This class brings in pet specialists to answer questions regarding transportation requirements for pets and to assist military families in properly planning for the shipment of their pets.

Financial Foundations
A financial foundations class will be held July 23 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Bldg 948 in the FTAC classroom. This money management class includes goal setting, budgeting, credit and debt management and basic investing.

Pre-Deployment Readiness Briefings
Pre-deployment readiness briefings will be held July 16, 23 and 30. This class is required for all those going TDY or deploying for more than 30 days. This class will fulfill your pre-deployment checklist requirement.

The Newcomers Bus Tour
The Newcomers Bus Tour to Bury St Edmunds will be held July 18 and 25 from 8:30 to 2:30 p.m. This newcomers tour includes visiting the historical town of Bury St. Edmunds, the cathedral, eating in a pub, shopping and free time to explore. The tour July 11 will be to Duxford Imperial War Museum.

Deployed Family Member Dinner and Social
A deployed family member dinner and social will be held July 17 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Knights Table Dining Facility.

VA Benefits Briefing
A VA benefits briefing will be held July 18 from 8 a.m. to noon. This briefing will cover benefits you are entitled to receive from Veteran's Affairs, and the Veteran's Affairs representative will also field questions.
