48th CS Airman displays Excellence in All We Do Published June 19, 2008 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Airman 1st Class Steven Larson, 48th Communications Squadron network configuration management technician, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he epitomizes the Air Force core value of "Excellence in All We Do." Commander: Maj. Charmaine L. Martin Time in Service: Two years Time at Lakenheath: One year, nine months Hometown: Woodbridge, Va. Hobbies: Golfing, spending time with friends, anything outdoors Core Value Portrayed: Airman Larson's work encompasses all the core values, so I think it's best to say he exemplifies "Excellence in All We Do." His hard work earned him Airman of the Year for the squadron and the Communications and Information award. Airman Larson is always the go-to guy whenever there is something that needs to be fixed. He comes in early, stays late and doesn't complain. His constant desire to learn more about his profession has impressed me as well as his willingness to be taught. He's been the point of contact for several different projects and has excelled at each of them. He constantly strives to be at the top of his game and it comes through in every aspect of his life: his attitude, his performance and his professionalism are some of the best I've seen in the Air Force. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? My father served in the Air Force and I think it's important for everyone to do their part to serve our country. What are your personal and career goals? I hope to commission and be able to lead people and help them achieve their potential. I've had some great supervisors and I'd like to one day have a role in Airmen's lives like my supervisors have had in mine.
