48th EMS Airman epitomizes Service Before Self

  • Published
Airman 1st Class Christopher Kowalczyk , 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment apprentice, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he epitomizes the Air Force core value of "Service Before Self."

Commander:
Major Darrin "DB" Dronoff

Time in Service: 15 Months

Time at Lakenheath: 8 Months

Hometown: Jenison, Mich.

Hobbies: Baseball, golf, traveling, working on cars and hanging out with friends

Core Value Portrayed: Airman Kowalczyk is the true epitome of "Service Before Self" and "Excellence In All We Do." From engaging in volunteer opportunities to dress and appearance, and everything else in between, he is truly an Airman his peers strive to emulate. Not only does he work hard to improve himself; he also works hard to improve those around him. For instance, he has volunteered his time to relocate the elementary school's reading resource room and set up new class rooms for the teachers. At work he aggressively tackles every assignment handed to him...completing each task to perfection each and every time. In addition to his impeccable work ethic his dress and appearance is immaculate. He always comes to work with a sharp uniform and boots shined better than the mirrors on the Hubble Telescope. The Aerospace Ground Equipment Flight is lucky to have an Airman of his caliber and it will be of little surprise if Airman Kowalczyk is not Chief Kowalczyk one day down the road.
