LaVoie 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The Lakenheath Action Group and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament will protest at the RAF Lakenheath Main Gate May 18 at 1 p.m. "In addition to the protest, LAG is encouraging protesters to tour the perimeter of the base," said Master Sgt. Anthony Arens, 48th Security Forces Squadron anti-terrorism NCO. "As this protest is sponsored by more than one organization, it has the potential of being attended by over 100 participants." Below are some tips when dealing with protests around the installation or throughout the UK and Europe. - First, if at all possible, avoid the demonstration area completely. Use the RAF Lakenheath, Gate 2 to exit and enter the installation - Airmen should exercise caution when entering and exiting the installation should protesters be present or are occupying the roadway. - Airmen should not speak to the protesters or get out of their vehicle. - Airmen should not antagonize the protesters with verbal or physical confrontation. Remember, they have a right to protest in their own country. - Airmen are ambassadors of the U.S. Any actions you take near the protest will be recorded by the protesters and used as propaganda to further their cause.
