Community Assessment Survey

British Post Office
At the British Post Office, Airmen can pay everything from gas and water bills to telephone and mail orders. The post office also has the ability to cash and deposit checks to select banks, as well as issue, redeem money orders and exchange currencies. In addition to handling money for Airmen, the British Post Office also sells a variety of insurance, from travel, to car and home insurance. Airmen can also get a road tax license issued, as well as a selection of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency application forms. For more information, visit the British Post Office.

Survivor Benefit Plan
A military retiree is guaranteed a monthly income for life. However, military retired pay stops on the date the retiree dies. The Survivor Benefit Plan was created to protect widowed spouses and dependent children from complete loss of income. For more information, call 226-3070.

Financial issue
Servicemembers may have noticed a base pay fluctuation between January and March. The fluctuation is due to retroactive pay increase that did not take place until February. For more information, call finance customer service at 226-1851.

Passport price raise
The U.S. Department of State has increased their prices for tourist passports.

Prices:
- Adult Tourist Passport (initial issue): $100
- Adult Tourist Passport (renewal): $75
- Minor Tourist Passport (age 15 and under): $85

48th Services Briefs

Kid's Night Out
The Lakenheath Youth Center will hold a kid's night out May 23 from 8 to 10:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per child ages six through 12. There will be arts and crafts, gym time, movies and snacks. For more information call 226-5437.

Open Mic Night
An open-mic night will be held May 29 from 8 to 10 p.m. People can sign up beginning at 7 p.m. the night of the event. For more information call 226-4884.

New Playaways at the Lakenheath Library
Playaways are a new format of self-contained audio books. Playaways are in a VHS-like container but are about the size of an iPod. The only things people need are earplugs and a love of stories. Call the Lakenheath Library at 226-3713 for more information.

May is Fitness Month at RAF Lakenheath
A Hoop-it-Up Basketball Tournament will be held May 10 at 10 a.m at the Lakenheath Fitness Center. The entrance fee is $2.50 per person.

Dodgeball Tournament
A dodgeball tournament will be held May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Lakenheath Fitness Center. The tournament format will be determined by the number of teams participating. The cost is $6.00 per team.

Fitness Golf Tournament
A golf tournament will be held May 29 at 8 a.m. at the Breckland Pines Golf Course.

Survivor Group Challenge
There will be a fitness survivor challenge May 31 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lakenheath Fitness Center. Teams will compete in fitness challenges which test strength, speed and stamina. Friday, May 31, 11:30am start time

Fitness Clue
A fitness challenge game based on the popular board game, Clue, will be held the entire month of May at the Lakenheath Fitness Center.
