48th EMS Airman practices Excellence In All We Do

Senior Airman Kevin Parnell, 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron arcraft metals technology journeyman, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he practices the Air Force core value of "Excellence in all we do."

Core Value portrayed: Airman Parnell is the perfect example of "Excellence in all we do." Whether he is on or off duty he is involved in a range of activities. He spends his off-duty time pursuing his college degree, and volunteers at the post office and as a dispatcher for AADD. While on-duty, Airman Parnell always goes above and beyond to make sure the mission gets done. When it comes to getting the critical jobs done he is always the "go-to" guy. Airman Parnell is self-taught on the CNC machining center; he manufactures previously unprocurable aircraft parts saving the Air Force time and money. Additionally, he is always willing to train the younger Airmen in the shop to increase their job knowledge. Airman Parnell's attitude and dedication exemplify the Air Force core values.

Why is serving important to you?
The most important reason for me to serve my country is because it makes my family proud of what I am doing.

What are your personal and career goals?
My goals are to complete my bachelor's degree in engineering, so I can start my own business when I leave the military.
