48th EMS Airman practices Service Before Self

  • Published
Airman 1st Class Alhaji Jalloh, 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment apprentice, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he practices the Air Force core value of "Service Before Self."

Commander: Maj. Darrin "DB" Dronoff

Time in service: 14 Months

Time at Lakenheath: 8 Months

Home town: Dallas

Hobbies: Reading, coaching and playing soccer

Core Value portrayed: Airman Jalloh is the exemplification of "Service Before Self." Whether he is at or off work, he always makes the time to help others. At work he consistently finishes early and asks what else needs done or if anyone else needs help. Off-duty his volunteering ranges from coaching youth soccer to pitching mail at the post office. His pride in service and selfless attitude are also equally impressive. Specifically, during one down day he volunteered to perform a retreat ceremony. In addition, he ensures the safety of his fellow Airmen as a designated driver volunteer for all of our squadron and group events. However, in spite of all of this, the one thing that impresses me the most about Airman Jalloh is his unwavering commitment to the mission. When it comes to duty time, he has no problems staying late to get that critical piece of equipment out the door. On several occasions, he has even sacrificed his social life to move to off shifts at a moment's notice to ensure the flightline was covered. Airman Jalloh is a true attribute to the AGE flight and the Air Force.
