48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron change of command

Maj. Matthew C. Finnegan took command of the 48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in a change of command ceremony Jan. 18. The Albany, New York native took command from Lt. Col. Keith A. C. Compton Jr. The squadron has more than 900 Liberty warriors. The 48th AMXS is a worldwide deployable unit which conducts the inspection, generation and organizational maintenance of F-15C/D/E aircraft and the 56th Rescue Squadron's HH-60G Combat Search and Rescue helicopters. Their mission is to sustain three fighter squadrons and one operations support squadron in support of USAFE, USEUCOM and NATO commitments through direction to three aircraft maintenance units. They ensure consistent application of quality maintenance practices, equitable distribution of resources and successful training programs.
