It's been a good year for the Burrows family. Both husband and wife were promoted through the Stripes for Excellent Performers program this year by Gen. William T. Hobbins, U.S. Air Forces in Europe commander.

Tech. Sgt. Audrey Burrows, 48th Maintenance Group client support administrator, was promoted to technical sergeant by General Hobbins, and Brig. Gen. John Hesterman, 48th Fighter Wing commander at an Airmen's call Dec. 3. Sergeant Burrows' husband, Tech. Sgt. Adrian Burrows, was also STEP promoted in August by General Hobbins.

"This promotion's been a long time coming," said Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Laubach, 48th Maintenance Group non-commissioned officer in charge of the consolidated help desk.

"Sergeant Burrows has shown great professionalism and is a key member of our team. I'm very excited for her as she accepts new challenges as a technical sergeant."

Sergeant Burrows has accomplished many things in her 11-year career. Since her assignment to RAF Lakenheath, Sergeant Burrows has managed the 48th FW Records Management, Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act programs. She performed more than 30 unit assistance visits in preparation for a successful October 2006 inspection. As wing records manager, she played a crucial role in the 48th FW receiving an "Excellent" rating for the 2007 USAFE Inspector General Unit Compliance Inspection.

"I had no idea that this promotion was coming," Sergeant Burrows said. "I didn't even know they were awarding stripes. I'm grateful for my mentors who have guided and believed in me. I will continue to give nothing less than 110 percent during the rest of my Air Force career," Sergeant Burrows said.
