Tech. Sgt. Anthony Meadows, 48th Communications Squadron assistant non-commissioned officer in charge of configuration management, was promoted to technical sergeant Dec. 3 by Gen. William T. Hobbins, U.S. Air Forces in Europe commander, and Brig. Gen. John Hesterman, 48th Fighter Wing commander. Sergeant Meadows earned his promotion through the Stripes for Excellent Performers program. "Out of all the staff sergeants I've ever worked with, Sergeant Meadows stands above them by far," said Tech. Sgt. Jason Gagnon, 48th CS NCOIC of configuration management. Sergeant Gagnon said it was a pleasure to nominate Sergeant Meadows for this promotion because of his work ethic, morals and core values. Sergeant Meadows attributed most of his success to the people who've influenced him in his career, especially his current supervisor. "I've had the privilege of working with some of the best people in the Air Force," he said. "Sergeant Gagnon has been an excellent mentor." Sergeant Meadows has achieved much in his nine-year career, including moving $260,000 worth of equipment into a new facility and bringing operations back to normal in just 10 hours. His detailed attention to 355 compliance requirements led to a 94.1 percent compliance rating for RAF Lakenheath's Network Control Center, giving it the best NCC in USAFE honor. Inspector reports described Lakenheath as having the "best NCC ever seen." Sergeant Meadows was also hand-selected for Army's Airborne School early in his career and surpassed his peers, rising to the top five percent of 230 people taking the Army fitness test. "It's such an honor to receive this promotion and I feel blessed and fortunate to have a career in which I have opportunities to succeed," Sergeant Meadows said. "I've had so many good people standing behind me and looking out for me, especially my family. I'm proud to have earned this for them."
