Servicemember of the year essays speak to joint operations

USAFE Warriors,

The following essays, written by two of our best and brightest, Senior Airman Matthew Dale from 3rd Air Force and Senior Airman Steven Nehls from the 31st Fighter Wing, depict how important each and every one of us are to the joint fight. Both competed for U.S. European Command Service Member of the Year and I was particularly impressed with the quality of their essays and the wisdom of their words. I couldn't be more proud of how well they represented their units and our Air Force. Their attitudes toward teamwork and pride in serving with our sister services should be emulated by all...after all--it's all about the team!
